A Guiding Philosophy of McGrath

I bought my first property in Leichhardt in 1991 for $192k.
I was just married and had our first child. We blew our budget by $12,000 at the auction and I was petrified that we had gone over by that amount. The home was a single fronted, weatherboard cottage with two beds, one bath and no car park. My defining memory was of Chris Truen, The Principal of Ray White Annandale, putting me in his car and driving me around the area – I was so impressed by this.
Beginning with John
John McGrath’s passion to look after people and make a difference is our history and our unique asset. This approach started with vendors and buyers, and has grown to include our own people and their development.
There is a misconception in the industry that it’s all about quick wins. In fact, the most successful agents are those that are committed to a tried and tested way of doing things and treating people. We are lucky that we’re in an environment at McGrath where people want to share their experiences and skills. That’s why it’s no surprise 27 of 100 Agents in REB Top 100 were from McGrath – it isn’t by chance, it’s by design.
People First
Our agents and franchisee partners, while hailing from a wide variety of backgrounds, have all built some of the biggest and most successful businesses in the country. Is it something in the water? Something in their DNA? Possibly, but I suspect it’s something you’ll also find in that moment where I was being driven around Leichhardt: the impression they leave on people.
