Guided by The Gospel - Issue 30 (Jesus)

Welcome to this 30th issue(!) of 'Guided by The Gospel'. In this edition, we embark on an enriching journey to deepen our understanding of our Lord and Savior, Jesus [the] Christ. We'll explore His identity as our Savior, His divine nature, His exemplary life on Earth, and what it means to follow Him in our daily lives. This exploration is rooted in Scripture, offering insights and reflections to strengthen our faith and relationship with Jesus.

How do we know Jesus is Our Savior? "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16. Jesus' sacrificial death and resurrection offer redemption, symbolizing the ultimate act of divine love and salvation.

How do we know Jesus is God? "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." - John 1:1. Jesus is God incarnate, integral to the Holy Trinity. "Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made." - John 1:3. Jesus' involvement in the creation of all things is a testament to His divine power.

How do we know Jesus’ life is a perfect example for us to follow? "He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth." - 1 Peter 2:22. Jesus' life, free from sin, serves as an ideal model for human conduct. "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." - John 13:34. Applying Jesus' teachings in our daily interactions emphasizes a life of love, forgiveness, and service.

Take a few moments to reflect on these questions to foster a deeper and more personal understanding of your faith and relationship with Jesus:

1. How does Jesus' role as Savior, as described in John 3:16, personally impact my life and beliefs?

2. In what ways can I incorporate the teachings of Jesus, especially His command to love one another from John 13:34, into my daily life?

3. What inspires me the most about Jesus' life, particularly His sinless nature as mentioned in 1 Peter 2:22?

4. How does understanding Jesus as both God and man, as affirmed in John 1:1, deepen my faith?

5. How can I emulate Jesus' example of unconditional love and forgiveness in my daily interactions?

6. What aspects of Jesus' life inspire me the most, and why?

7. What does it mean to me to be a Christian and is my being a Christian apparent to the people I encounter in my daily interactions?

In this milestone issue of 'Guided by The Gospel', we have journeyed together through the profound realms of understanding Jesus Christ. From His role as our Savior and the Christ, His divine essence as God and the Creator, to His perfect example of a sinless life, and the practical implications of living as a Christian in our daily lives. Each aspect of Jesus' life and mission offers us invaluable insights into how we can deepen our faith and emulate His example. As we reflect on these teachings, let us carry the light of Christ in our hearts and actions, continually growing in our relationship with Him and living out the Gospel in every aspect of our lives.
