Guide to Working with a Property Mentor

Guide to Working with a Property Mentor

I got totally highjacked! (but I gave it back at the end of the video, bless him!) I love mentoring, so I might be someone you want to work with. But here is a great video on how you might like to chose your mentor who fits you! Look at the value fit - if your values fit, then you a re likely to be guided into the area you want to achieve in. Has that mentor done enough to be able to know what to do when things go wrong - do NOT work with folks who have done a relatively small number of properties - it is not a status thing, it is just you need your mentor to have done hundreds of properties, so they can chisel you out of any difficulty you have gotten yourself into, and the reason they can do it - they probably made the same mistakes themselves once. Wide experience translates to tons of help for you. Narrow experience translates to inexperience when the going gets tough, which would concern me about your choice. A mentor needs deep, deep level of experience. Are they a radiator, not a drain? And do you like them? What is the quality of their material? The S Curve - happens in every mentoring relationship - it is natural, and normal and we all go through it! And are they there for you in an emergency? And good luck!
