Guide to the entrance exam for college admission

Entrance exams are a gateway that one needs to cross in order to get into undergraduate, post-graduate or any other professional courses. It basically acts like your phone's lock. Once you crack the password you can operate the phone. Once you score the suitable marks you can enter the university and the course you wish to pursue.

Selecting the course you want to make your career in is easy, but getting into one may not be. Having wide clarity on several entrance exams is important to know which is apt for you. In India, different kinds of entrance exams are conducted based on the type of course.

Several colleges/universities conduct exams on a common level, whereas some have their own entrance exams.

?Below are some well-known entrance exams conducted on a national level in India:

?JEE: The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an exam conducted for students who wish to pursue their careers in any engineering or technical field. The exam is conducted on two levels- JEE MAIN & JEE ADVANCE.

-JEE MAIN is level 1 of the examination where students who secure the cutoff marks are eligible to get into engineering colleges.?

-JEE ADVANCE is level 2 of the examination, which is specifically conducted for students who wish to pursue their studies in IITs. This round 2 is conducted after MAIN for students who qualify in level 1.

?CAT: Common Admission Test (CAT) is an entrance test for MBA candidates wishing to get admission to top management institutions of India like IIMs, MICA, etc

?NEET: The National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) is a single-level entrance test conducted in India for medical courses like MBBS, BDS, etc.

?CA: The Institute Of Chartered Accountants Of India conducts three different levels of CA exams for aspirants who wish to pursue Chartered Accountancy in India.

-CA Foundation: The entry step in chartered accountancy after clearing the 12th board is to clear Level 1 of CA exams that is CA Foundation

?-IPCC: The Integrated Professional Competence Course is Level 2 of CA exams that students have to appear for after completing Level 1

?-CA Finals: The last and final level of Chartered Accountancy is the CA Finals exams. After completing Level 1 and Level 2, students are eligible for the CA Finals entrance test.

?One needs to clear the entire list to be recognized as a professional in the field.

?GMAT: The Graduate Management Admission Test is a global-level entrance test for students to get admission in business school who wish to pursue MBA in India or overseas.

?GATE: The Graduate Aptitude Test In Engineering is an entrance exam for students who wish to pursue their master's in engineering or for recruiting in public sectors like Indian Oil, Hindustan Petroleum, etc

?CLAT: The Common Law Admission Test is a national-level entrance exam for pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Law

?CSE/UPSC: The Civil Service Exam is a national-level exam conducted by the Union Public Sector Commission (UPSC) for aspirants who wish to enter higher Civil Services of the Government of India, the Indian Administrative Services, the Indian Foreign Services, and the Indian Police Services.

?Many students are confused about which entrance exam to apply for. The next time a student asks which exam she/he should apply for, give them this article and let them decide for themselves.
