Guide - Easy Steps To Get YouTube API Key

YouTube API provides us the ability to retrieve feeds related to videos, users, and playlists from YouTube directly. It also provides the ability to manipulate these feeds, such as creating new playlists, adding videos as favorites, and sending messages. The API also allows us to upload new videos.

In order to access the public API Endpoints from YouTube Data API, we’ll need an API key.

# Login to Google Developer's Console.

Login to your Google Developer Console from here using your Google account. If you don’t yet have one, you’ll need to create one.

#Create New?Project.

• Click the dropdown that says “Select a Project”.

• On the Popup, click “Create Project”.

• Type a name in the “Project Name” field and hit Create, I named it YouTube API.

• Click again the dropdown that says “Select a Project” and choose the created project.

# Enable APIs And Services.

• Following the previous steps, click the button that says “Enable APIs And Services”.

• Click “Enable”.

# Create Credentials.

• Click “Create Credentials”.

• Make Sure “YouTube Data API v3” is selected, and Choose “Public data”.

• Click “Next”.

Here we go, we got our API key, and is ready to be used.
