GUIDE TO CLEARING ACCA PROFESSIONAL LEVEL EXAMINATIONS

Everyone is looking for a quick and easy way to crack one of the toughest exams in the field of accountancy. Here are a few tips that might help you in achieving the same.

1. Believe in yourself

The very first thing is to have a positive attitude towards the examinations. They are here just to test your knowledge. So be positive that you’ll clear it and you actually will.

2. Focus

It’s only a matter of few months. Although it sounds undoable, but you will have to restrict yourself to your preparation. It’s easier to say I did my best rather than saying I wish I tried my best. This does not mean just studying 24*7 but rather, when you are studying, only focus on your study material.

3. Be calm

You may feel super stressed at times and feel like giving up because you can’t remember what you have studied. At that point of time, close your eyes and think about the reasons why you chose to do ACCA. Go back to that level of self-motivation. Take a break, breathe in, breathe out and start again.

4. Timetable

Go through the entire syllabus once and prepare a timetable according to your strengths and weaknesses. Don’t go simply copying your friend’s schedule, because that will do you no good and only preparing a timetable won’t do. You’ll have to stick to it.

5. Understand, don’t Cram

The ACCA wants to test your level of understanding. They do not want you to cram the textbook and throw it all in answer sheets. What they expect from you is to be able to apply the knowledge gained in each subject in different scenarios. At London School of Business & Certified Accountants, India, we follow this rule: Conceptual clarity above theoretical knowledge.

6. Revision Kit.

Most students fail to understand the importance of revision kit and the way of answering. The answering technique is where we lose marks. So, it is important to know what to write and when to write. Answering a question does not mean writing what you know but providing the information that is required from you.

7. No Comparison

Every student has a different way of studying and has a different learning pace. So, comparing yourself to fellow batch mate is like comparing oranges and apples. I, personally, am a quick learner and grab things pretty fast but my friend requires double the amount of time and effort to read the same text. So, if she blindly follows my schedule, she’ll be disheartened and demotivated because of the time gap. SO NEVER COMPARE.

Follow these guidelines and you’ll be a few steps closer to becoming an ACCA..
