Guidance for the use of AI tools for Education

In recent months, there has been an increasing worry in academic contexts regarding the usage of text generating artificial intelligence (AI) such as ChatGPT, Bing, and, recently, Co-Pilot, which has been incorporated into the Microsoft Office suite. Major concerns about Artificial Intelligence based platforms is that students will cheat or plagiarize on their paper tasks and assessments via generative artificial intelligence (AI) strategies is one of the key concerns. To further understand this problem, A survey [1] conducted a poll of 1,000 enrolled 4-year college students in the United States in January to find out how well-versed in ChatGPT they were and how they used it for coursework.

According to the survey, over thirty percent of students think their instructors are unaware that they are using the application to cheat, even though 75 percent of students think it is illegal to do so.

Because of this, authorities and academic institutions are working to develop norms for these artificial intelligence systems.

3.????? Instructors at Yale University[4] make the decision on whether or not to employ AI technologies in their classes. It is essential for educators to maintain clarity and transparency on the authorized and prohibited technologies, as well as the rationale behind any limitations.

This article discusses guidelines created by various education authorities and universities for both instructors and students.
