SAFAL - Structured Assessment for Analysing Learning?

Based on the recommendations of the National Education Policy (2020), CBSE has developed a new assessment methodology called Structured Assessment for Analysing Learning (SAFAL).?Some key features of SAFAL are -?

• Annual school assessment for all students in Grades 3, 5, and 8
• Focus on testing core concepts and application of knowledge
• Results to be used to provide development feedback to schools

The learning outcomes are mapped to a comprehensive set of indicators. These correspond to four levels - below basic, basic, proficient and advanced.?You can read more about SAFAL here .

Prospects for children in 2022 - A global report (UNICEF)

The pandemic's impact on children's lives is increasingly evident: A record rise in child poverty, disruption to education for an entire generation and job losses. This report identified 10 key trends impacting children. It also identifies ways to support children to thrive under such circumstances.?

Disrupting education through experimental evidence technology-aided instruction?

School enrollment has increased in low- and middle-income countries over the past twenty years. However, learning levels remain low. Educational technology is seen as a promising solution to help improve learning outcomes. In this paper , a computer-based adaptive learning platform (Mindspark) is evaluated. It was developed?for secondary school students in New Delhi. The paper discusses the impact of customised learning technology on student achievement.
