1. The Ministry of Education released a report on the Unified District Information System for Education Plus 2021-22

The report presents information on school education in India. According to the report, The total enrollment in school education from primary to higher secondary in 2021-22 has increased by 19.36 lakh from the previous year. The Gross Enrollment Ratio has improved in the primary and secondary and higher secondary levels. The Gender Parity Index, enrolment of children belonging to OBC or SC/ST backgrounds has also shown an improvement. Read the detailed report here.


2. The Ministry of Education released Performance Grading Index 2020-21 for States and Union Territories

The performance index, derived from a comprehensive analysis of school education, grades the states and union territories. 7 states and union territories attained level 2 this year - the highest till date. Punjab, Kerala and Maharashtra topped the list with a score of 928 out of 1000. Access the report here.?


3. The Global Education Monitoring Report 2022: Gender Report released by UNESCO

The 2022 Gender Report, Deepening the Debate on Those Still Left Behind, focuses on gender parity and equity in Education. The report finds that the learning gap is becoming closer even in the poorest countries. Girls across the globe are demonstrating how well they can perform if they have access to education. 4. Artificial Intelligence in Education

Integration of Artificial Intelligence in Education has seen an increase in the recent past. More and more programmes are being launched in this arena. The Ministry of Electronics & IT, Government of India, launched the ‘Youth for Unnati and Vikas with AI’ (YUVAi) programme which will impart AI skills to students from classes 8th to 12th across the country. On the other hand, the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras is collaborating with the School Education Department of Tamil Nadu to personalise the teaching and learning experience of 90 lakh students across the state using artificial intelligence. Read more here.?
