Guest Blogging List

I was recently looking through a list of the top ten SEO tips and tricks when I came across an article around guest blogging, to create backlinks. In short, from what I gather the more quality backlinks you have to your website the better your own website might rank on different search engines like Google.

For those that don't know, a backlink is really just a link from one website back to your website. In short, if you can find a website that allows guest bloggers and get your article published on that website then your article can link back to your website and help improve your own page rank.

I decided to have a go at this but immediately got bogged down trying to find a list of UK sites that allow guest bloggers to submit articles.

Whilst searching I noticed that many of the sites that do allow guest blogs have a page called /write-for-us that guest bloggers can use to submit their articles and so on. An example is below:

With this in mind I searched for websites ending .co.uk for a /write-for-us page and indexed this list to create a list of URL's.

This created me a raw list of 1,337 websites along with their a link to their /write-for-us page however I found that some of these websites would unlikely be relevant for me so used my own tools to enrich around 650 of them with the following fields:

• Company Name
• City
• Industry & Sector
• Revenue & Employee Range
• Employee Range
• Specialties
• Social Media Links
• Description
• Technology Stack

These additional fields allowed me to create a pivot tables to show specific sites with /write-for-us pages that were relevant to me.

By then clicking on the selection I want I can view the exact list I need.

I can now reference this list to identify websites that are relevant to my blog post and submit my blog post to them quickly in order to generate backlinks and improve my own page rank.
