?? SPOTLIGHT

?? It's time to play: Ursula von der Leyen has revealed her hand for the new European Commission . Three Commissioners have drawn particularly interesting cards:

  • Henna Virkkunen : her card is Tech Sovereignty, Security, and Democracy. Her play? Bridging digital innovation with security, we hope. Ms Virkunnen is a great choice - she's worked closely on digital before!

  • Valdis Dombrovskis: his card on Implementation and Simplification plays to streamline EU laws. That would make the game easier, and would help innovative European companies to thrive.
  • Stéphane Séjourné: his card (Industrial Strategy & Single Market) should be used to remove market barriers and help EU businesses sell online across EU borders instead of moving abroad.
