In the realm of unforeseen tragedies, life can be shockingly unpredictable..
Like being told you are going to die.?
The Covid-19 pandemic started in 2019. In mid-December 2020 I got COVID. You remember then, don’t you? We now know the “experts” did not know what they were dealing with. After ten days I was put in the hospital, then into intensive care.
They almost put me on a ventilator. The doctors and nurses came into my room and they said, “We're gonna have to put you on a ventilator Mr. Garcia. You're not getting any better.” I was emphatic in my response“No, no. My God has promised me that I'm going to be well, he's going to heal me.”
They still felt I was wrong, but I was convinced.?
I don't know how long it was but another doctor came in by himself. He stood at the foot of the bed on the right side, looking at me. He said, “Mr. Garcia, I seriously need you to understand.? You have a less than 15% chance to live.? I'm sorry. But I need you to understand that. You need to understand this because this is what's probably going to happen - you’re going to die.”?
I knew he was wrong. Calmly, and directly I responded, “I already told you. My God has promised me. He's going to heal me.”?
He shook his head and left. Two days later a nurse who would come in and check on me more than she should, came into my room. She said with tears welling up in her eyes, “You're getting better! They're going to move you down to the next level.”?
I was overcome with relief. I was the only patient who survived that ward.
Later, they wheeled me out.? The nurses were standing outside when they moved me because it's a big deal if somebody survives and gets released from that floor.
Bottom line - God has a lot for me to do. I'm here to serve and help the people in my life.
If I didn’t survive, who would “go the distance” with my client. Let me give you an example. An electrical contractor who, along with his wife, successfully ran their business. Recognizing the complexity of their family dynamics—both with children from previous marriages and the shared responsibility of their business—I urged the client to reconsider his life insurance coverage.
?He had a $400,000 policy at that time, but I recommended increasing it to provide additional security.? He saw that he didn’t have an updated plan that would take care of his family..?
Following my advice, he got an additional $800,000 in coverage, bringing his total to $1.2 million. Little did we know that this decision would profoundly affect their lives. The next year, the client, at the young age of 50, was diagnosed with prostate cancer.? Tragically, he passed away within 12 months.
Facing the following challenges, his resilient wife took the reins of their business for a period before eventually deciding to sell. With the proceeds from the business sale, supplemented by social security and the life insurance payout, she secured her financial future and maintained a comfortable lifestyle. Even after these life-altering events, she remains a valued client.
This experience reinforces the importance of strategic financial planning and life insurance's role in safeguarding families' well-being. While we can't predict the future, having the right coverage in place can provide a crucial safety net during the most challenging times.?
It's stories like these that underscore the significance of my work, helping individuals navigate the uncertainties of life and ensuring they are well-prepared for whatever may come their way.
