What We're Seeing:
We are in a market of chutes and ladders. Very small fraction, of incredibly high-quality products, in each and every vertical software domain, are doing exceptionally well right now. The rest? It's been a tough year so far. And the disparity between the haves and have-nots is growing by the day, and top 10% GTM talent on the market is recognizing this.
Top Performers are performing very well again, earning lot’s of money, and are increasingly passive in the job market.
A historically low amount of sales professionals are keen on exploring new opportunities and the industry has become increasingly immobile. Even if they're not 'top 10%-ers' in the field, if they're employed, earning a paycheck, and have a semi-sense of stability in their current roles - their stakes are in the ground. After what many went through over the last few years, risk aversion is high.
While their interest can still be earned, it needs to be persuaded by quantifiable growth, stability in leadership, and product leadership in given markets.
My advice to anyone trying to court this top performers in to their orgs in H2?

We fully expect the competition for top talent to increase over the rest of 2024 as risk aversion lowers on the company side, and demand increases in various markets across the software domain. Here’s to a strong finish of the year!
