G&T Recommends: Tools & Tutorials
Some of us may have a little extra time on our hands right now, and with that comes the opportunity to learn. Me & my team at G&T have listed our top 5 educational tools for you to dive into during your downtime.
Facebook Spark AR Studio
Do you enjoy the amazing array of filters available on Instagram? Well, now you can make your own thanks to the geniuses at Facebook who have created Spark AR Studio. This free software enables you to create your very own AR effects. Facebook describes the software as "simplifying the creation of AR effects — new capabilities open up fresh AR experiences on Instagram." All you need to get started is a Facebook account and a little bit of imagination.

Creative Cloud tutorials & two months free!
Adobe, the mothership of creative software, is always helping us to broaden our skills and learn. They offer a huge library of tutorials from beginner level all the way through to advanced. Just select your level of experience and you're all set.

In these challenging times Adobe is also offering current users a 2 month free access period. To access this simply hit the Manage Plan section (found on the Plan page) of your Adobe Creative Cloud dashboard. Then just request to cancel your plan - when the options asking why you are canceling appear, hit 'Too Expensive'. What follows is an offers page containing a number of deals to convince you to stay, this is where you should find the two-month payment holiday offer.
Skillshop with Google
Access free online training to develop skills for Google workplace tools. Learn at your own pace and get Google product certified along the way - always a good thing to have on your CV.
Plus you’ll find loads of tutorials on Google Ads, which is just one of the Google products that is constantly being updated, making Skillshop a great way to refresh your knowledge if you're already familiar or get stuck in if you're brand new.

Youtube
Where video tutorials began. For years we’ve been ‘Youtubing’ how to do things and we love it because it can sometimes be a more intimate way to learn as you literally have someone talking to you. Here’s a few of our favourite creative YouTube channels.
- PHLEARN will make you fall in love with Photoshop https://www.youtube.com/user/PhlearnLLC
- Hand lettering? Logo design? Will is your guy https://www.youtube.com/user/breakdesignsco
- Animation with Alan https://www.youtube.com/user/AlanBeckerTutorials
- Is programming, web development, or game design your thing? We got you https://www.youtube.com/user/thenewboston
Museum of Modern Art online courses
Last but not least is the Museum of Modern Art. The current global situation means we can not appreciate modern art in galleries or at exhibitions but thanks to MoMa we can all still learn a little more about it. Course topics span from film and photography to contemporary art. Courses are free and can be completed at your own pace.
Those are our favourite five. Drop me a comment with any other tools or resources that you’ve been using and would recommend.
