?? This Week’s Brain Food ??

Necessity is the mother of invention. The rising inflation in recent years prompted me to start a vegetable garden. For someone who’d barely kept a houseplant alive, I had no idea what I was getting into. I envisioned a lush garden of tomatoes, peppers, and herbs, saving me money on groceries.

Reality hit hard. Some seedlings withered despite constant watering, while pests devoured others. I battled with weeds that seemed to grow faster than my vegetables. There were days when I wanted to give up, convinced I didn’t have a “green thumb.”

But then, I noticed something. The plants that thrived weren’t the ones I fussed over most. The neglected ones—the tomato plant left unwatered for a week—developed deeper roots and became more resilient.

This taught me a life lesson: resilience grows through challenges, not perfect conditions. Just like my garden, we build strength by facing, not avoiding, difficulties. Whether it’s work, personal goals, or my thriving garden, I see setbacks as the groundwork for growth. It’s not about avoiding struggle; it’s about growing through it.
