??GST Aadhaar Linking: Step-by-Step Guide-:

??To streamline tax compliance and increase transparency, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has mandated that GST registrations be linked to Aadhaar via Aadhaar Authentication.

??Initially, the GST portal offered two options for Aadhaar Authentication: “Do it Now” and “Remind me Later”. But now the “Remind me Later” option will soon be disabled, leaving “Do it Now” as the only available option....

??The Aadhaar Authentication process can be done by two methods:

??Send Aadhaar Authentication link:-Opt for the first choice, "SEND AADHAAR AUTHENTICATION LINK," if your mobile number is already linked to your Aadhaar for receiving OTPs.

?? Process as follows-:

  1. Access the GST Portal and authenticate with your login information.
  2. Go to My Profile and select Aadhaar Authentication Status.
  3. To choose the Promoter/Partner for Aadhaar verification, please tick the box in the "Select for Aadhaar Authentication" column.
  4. Please click the "SEND VERIFICATION LINK" button to send the authentication link to the selected Promoter/Partner. This link will also be sent to the Primary Authorized Signatory at the same time.
  5. If you do not receive the link on your registered email ID and mobile number, click on Resend Authentication Link.
  6. Check your email inbox for a message containing the Aadhaar authentication link.
  7. Click the link in the email to review the details and proceed with the authentication process.
  8. Enter the OTP and click on Validate.
  9. A pop-up message will confirm, “Aadhaar Verified Successfully.”
  10. You can verify the Aadhaar Authentication status in the My Profile section.

??Upload KYC Documents:-:

??Process as follows-:

  1. Log in to the GST Portal.
  2. Go to My Profile and choose Aadhaar Authentication Status.
  3. Click the UPLOAD E-KYC DOCUMENTS tab to upload your E-KYC documents.
  4. After clicking the tab, it changes from blue to green, showing details for both the Promoter/Partner and Primary Authorized Signatory.
  5. Open the drop-down menu labeled Type of E-KYC Document to specify the document type for E-KYC. Pick the correct document from the available options. Click the UPLOAD DOCUMENTS button.
  6. A notification will appear to confirm that the documents have been successfully uploaded.
  7. The system will generate an ARN after you upload the documents using UPLOAD DOCUMENTS, which will then appear on the Tax Official's dashboard for approval or rejection.
  8. To authenticate Aadhaar later, go to My Profile > Aadhaar Authentication Status > Send Aadhaar Authentication Link. Once approved by the Tax Official, you can't upload documents again but can view them in the Upload E-KYC Document column.

If the Tax Official rejects the documents, you'll see a recurring pop-up each time you log in to the GST Portal. You'll need to choose between Authenticating Aadhaar or Uploading E-KYC Documents again.
