GSS launches GSS Network Alliance, GSS Education Programme and GSSport24 Winter Workshop Programme to help drive sustainability through sport globally
Global Sustainable Sport (GSS) is launching a trio of exciting initiatives, building on the successful?GSSport24 Summer Workshop Series?and helping sports organisations and stakeholders on the next phase of their sustainability journey.
The?GSS Network Alliance,?GSS Education Programme?and?GSSport24 Winter Workshop Programme?will accelerate momentum after the Summer Workshop Series engaged more than?350 participants, including over 100 not-for-profits,?from?61 nations.
“Today’s launch of the GSS Network Alliance, GSS Education Programme and GSSport24 Winter Workshop Programme represents the next phase of helping to drive sustainability through sport,” GSS Founder and CEO Mike Laflin said. “As we look forward to these exciting initiatives we express our sincere gratitude to the speakers during our Summer Workshop Series who encouraged and inspired more organisations to embed sustainably at their core.”
In June and July, seven free-to-attend workshops attracted representatives of every sports industry sector,?from global brands and international federations through to grassroots organisations. More than 50 expert speakers shared their knowledge and experiences with a global audience and?recordings of all 19 workshop sessions?are available through the?GSSport24 section?of the GSS website.
“The world faces global problems like?climate change, biodiversity loss, obesity and inactivity,” Laflin said.?“Global problems need global solutions?and sport is well placed to act as a catalyst for this change, engaging stakeholders, fans and athletes in thinking and acting more sustainably to provide a better future for sport and the planet.
