In this week’s news, it’s all about revenue, it seems! As it comes closer, the Royal Wedding scores prime TV content as Lifetime TV starts a full week of programming ahead of the big day. Their crown jewel will be the film “Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance”, a dramatization of their courtship.

And Avengers: Infinity War continues breaking box office records as the film brings in $112.5 million, making it the second-highest grossing weekend ever. The film to hold first place in the race is Star Wars: The Force Awakens, in 2015.

Perhaps Google Assistant will now have a say in box office sales, too? The app has teamed up with US ticketing company Fandango to allow customers to order movie tickets with its voice function, and without needing the Fandango app itself installed.

Meanwhile, in Europe, the 2017 figures for EU film ticket sales are in, with the top 20 highest box office admissions being held by US family films, led by Universal’s Despicable Me 3.

At Cannes 2018 Terry Gilliam is still kept in suspense over whether The Man Who Killed Don Quixote will be shown as the closing film, and so are we!
