Growths 2021

This is the third month of my business trip since the end of May. It is a tiring but fruitful trip. I haven't managed to meet any clients before taking the trip to set up the automatic lines at their facility since returned to work for Kinbio in last April. Presenting the proposals face to face is adored and more effective, but when the time and energy is limited, the after-sales support is the priority. While the customer churn rate is high, the great effort in business development makes little sense.

I'd like to share some updates about our growths in 2021.

Kinbio Business Growths

The first Kinbio automated lateral flow test production line to Europe was shipped on 30 Sep, 2020. In 2020, 6 lines were sent to Europe, Spain, Finland, Turkey, Russia.

In 2021, 25 lines have been shipped to Europe by today. Our automatic line business has extended to 4 more countries, namely UK, Switzerland, Greece, France, Lithuania, at least 15 more lines are expected to land in Europe by the end of 2021.

Globally, our automatic lines have entered the markets of Australia, Thailand, Singapore, Brazil, India, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Argentina, and so on.

Personal Growths

The best things happened in the past one year were finding my key competitivenesses in career development and finding the peace with whatever have happened, are happening and might be coming.

1. Assurance for Project Delivery

a. Have obtained the skills to set up the automated lateral flow production line independently.

Managed to set up an automatic line at the first attempt in Feb 2021 with the remote support from the engineers in China, at the same time, found the problems and solutions for the client materials which weren't fit for automated production. 7 out of 25 were commissioned independently by myself, the commissioning of 13 more lines were completed by my after-sales engineer Wong and me in the past 10 days.

Approximate lead time to set up an automatic line: 2 to 3 days/Line

b. Having good knowledge about Kinbio production capacity, machine design principles and structures, as well as the market/client demands.

What I normally do is to lay out the critical details in easy-to-understand formats to demonstrate to the clients, this helped improve the communication efficiency and accurately. There was 0 client complaint about a serious error in the project delivery under the pandemic even the annual turnover was 20 times of the past.

2. Kick to the point

We have highly skilled engineers. There are normally gaps between the understandings of different parties in the communication. Our engineers are very familiar with the machine structures and how to find and solve each problem. But they might not see the problems from the angle of a new user or might not describe the details precise enough for a new user to achieve the exact requirements to solve the problem. Somehow this is a part of human nature, when one person became an expert, the angle as a fresh user lost. Getting good knowledge about the machines and helping find the kick-to-the-point solutions rapidly was one of my intentions to take the first automatic line on-site support, now I could manage to hand most of the after-sales inquiries on the automatic lines independently.

While my skills in handing the automatic lines is improved rapidly, I can find the solutions by logic to handle the after-sales inquiries for the general rapid test production machines/dispenser, cutter, etc.

Personal Life

My husband said that he couldn't imagine how I survived all those tough experiences, and still maintained positive.

The life was never easy since I was a kid. There were innumerable moments that I cried, complained, dipped my head and surrended to the cruelty of the life. But if you met me before, you would find me very differently during different periods. All improvements are very tiny but together they achieved unimaginable impacts with the magic of the time.

I ran to Portugal before turned 30. I couldn't succeed the years of battles with the sensitive, fragile, self-pity me. The negative emotions always hunt me down, and I was tired of blaming anyone else. An adult should take responsibilities for her decisions and future. The experience embracing a total new environment and different cultures might help me get rid of the influence from the past experience, it was now or never.

My trauma was cured. On the top of that, I understood the person who hurt me most when I was little. She was right from her position and benefits. Actually, everyone was right considering from their positions, the only problem was that all the grownups back then only considered for themselves and forgot to think out for others.

I remembered very little about my dad, he passed away when I was 2. Life wasn't easy but I found the goodness lying in everyone. We were helped by many people who didn't expect to get paybacks. My grandparents and my mom didn't offer me a good economic condition, but they give me the unconditional love, the education to be positive, understanding, mercyful, and wise, which turned out the most precious legacies to me.

There was an ancient joke in China, someone said both his shield and spear was the best, the audience asked to attack his shield with his spear. According to my own practice, it is possible to reduce the side affects of the personal weaknesses if the personal strengths can be used wisely to fight against the weaknesses.
