Today, we sat down and spoke with our Lead People Partner for GTM, Samantha Gregor , and chatted about all things growth and internal mobility!

Let's start simple. What's your name and role at Immutable?

Samantha Gregor. Lead People Partner.

What motivated you to explore a new role within the company?

I love learning new things and working with different people. It allows you to pick up different skills, to see things from different perspectives, and to be a more well-rounded performer.

How did the transition process work for you? Were there specific steps or support systems in place that helped?

I was doing a 50/50 split in terms of my new role and prior role for a number of months, which allowed for a soft transition into my new role. I got lots of support from my new manager with 1:1s and also created an environment where I felt safe to ask silly questions.

What new skills or knowledge have you gained in your new role?

I learned lots of new skills, including coaching employees through complex, nuanced people situations, more insight into compensation design, employment law in many different countries, and project and change management.

How has Immutable supported your growth and development during this transition?

A great team and manager who make themselves available to brainstorm, weigh up pros and cons, and who have created an environment where we learn from each other. I've also recently attended a NeuroLeadership development summit, which was hugely valuable.

What advice would you give to colleagues or others looking to explore new roles at Immutable?

Be open with your manager about where you see your career going and what skills you may need exposure to to help meet your goals. Also try to meet different people at the company, donut chats are great. The more networked you are, the easier it is to understand what your options are.
