Growth Starts Where Comfort Ends—Are You Ready?
Toni Collis Leadership Coaching
Supporting Women in Tech globally to improve their executive leadership and break through the glass ceiling
The amount of discomfort you're willing to feel determines the progress you make in your leadership
It's a strength to feel uncomfortable, take responsibility, and be the change to lead purposefully.
Just to be clear... discomfort isn't pain
You don't want to fall into pain, but you don't want to stay away from discomfort as that is where incredible growth happens.
One of the things I love about the women we work with in LULA is that they're intuitive and notice where :
They're willing to take responsibility for the things they can control and it helps them reach the next level of their career.
With some coaching and a plan of action... they dare to be uncomfortable.
Confidence comes from sitting with that discomfort, taking action anyway, and seeing the results firsthand.
To do this, it's helpful to level up your awareness by noticing what happens when you feel uncomfortable.
Ask yourself:
To help you get past the need for comfort you can do some of the following:
?**Clear your mind.**
Do a brain dump or meditate. But allow everything out so you can give optimal attention to your growth focus.
? **Observe yourself.**
Celebrate your wins and build a log of all the times you've taken uncomfortable action and done great things anyway. Look at what you get distracted by when you know you should be taking action in a certain direction.
? **Do it anyway.**
Remember that uncertainty is often paralyzing, but staying where you are is also. Recognize how you are feeling, that you are uncomfortable, and identify exactly what you don't want to do and why.
Then do it anyway.
Opportunities are endless when you are willing to feel discomfort and driven to succeed.
And maybe, it's not that you don't have a drive to succeed, it's that you've been doing it on your own.
That's where we come in ??
It doesn't have to feel lonely at the top when you have a community of women who get it and coaches who have a Tech background.
