Growth for Rogers: Centra Breaks Ground on 20 new Homes

Award-winning schools and commuter access to the Twin Cities have fueled exponential growth in Rogers in recent years. Centra’s new Augusta Prairie development promises to continue the trend.

Voted the “Best Place to Raise Kids in Minnesota” by a national magazine in 2013, Rogers has flourished in subsequent years. As the suburb has grown, so has the local appetite for new construction homes. 

Enter Coon Rapids-based Centra homes-- a firm that specializes in new residential construction in the north metro. 

Earlier this month, Centra broke ground on Augusta Prairie, a project that will bring 20 new homes to Rogers near I-94, just off of Main Street. The development is set to offer eight different plans that run from 3-5 bedrooms and from approximately 1,400 – 4,000 square feet. The extensive options will include walkout, lookout and full basement homes.

Centra President Dale Wills says that the varying options of homes will appeal to a broad demographic including young families, “move-up” buyers and those who desire single-level living.

Wills says that in addition to the variety of exterior looks and interior configurations, several of the home styles will also include a fourth garage stall option. It’s a unique feature that he says has been popular with buyers in Centra’s other communities.

Centra plans to begin construction on their model home and two others over the next two months. Wills says they are hoping to have the model complete before the holidays. Plans call for the construction of the remaining 18 to be scheduled based on demand from buyers who will select lots and styles from the many options. Wills says that buyers will also have their choice of several interior finish packages as well as exterior color and a new “smart home” option.
