Growth! The name of the game

Growth! The name of the game

When we unveiled our new strategic framework at the beginning of the year, we announced bold goals centered around growth in our region. Part of making that happen is the strategy to double the size of the Chamber's Leadership Center, which means investing in new programs, growing existing programs, and re-envisioning how the Leadership Center can further serve our region's talent base.

This year, we’re launching several of those new programs, each of which has been developed and vetted with members and stakeholders. This Fall, we'll introduce Breathe, a new program, sponsored by Paycor, that will help support the mental and physical wellness of executive leaders in this region. I’m most excited about this program because it gets at almost every conversation I have with other executives: how are you taking care of your team and of yourself? This program will help Cincinnati leaders identify behaviors and skills that support and promote healthier employees and workplaces.

We're also launching Leadership Sprints, a program focused on individuals in management positions, giving them the framework, skills, and knowledge to cultivate high-performance teams in their organizations. Leadership Sprints will be a multi-day immersive experience in Louisville -- the intent is to exchange in ideas with leaders from a different region, get out of our everyday comfort zones to experience what other communities are doing, and go a mile deep in content within a few days.

Hello Cincy Executive, presented by Cincinnati Children's Hospital, begins its second year late this summer. This is a cohort program for new Cincinnatians (and their partners) to build a strong and cohesive network early on in their life in this region. The program helps pariticpants get connected to the people and strategic priorities of our region.

And finally, we’re adding a new award to our Annual Leadership Celebration. In addition to the Nelson Schwab Jr. Distinguished Alumni Award that goes to two Leadership Cincinnati Alumni, we’ve added an award for individuals who demonstrate exceptional CQ—civic quotient. These are leaders who understand our community and have shown they know how to get things done here.

The above programs create more ways for regional leaders to engage — in smaller groups, with compressed time frames, and on topics that are relevant to leadership today. Let us know who you think should participate in these programs! You can find them all here.

One more note before I go: Two weeks ago, we wrote to you about City Council’s effort to pass Connected Communities. I’m pleased to report that it passed yesterday. This is a significant win for growth in our region, and I offer my congratulations and thanks to all who helped support and promote this priority. The Chamber is proud to be a pro-growth and pro-development organization, and we believe this will help our region grow for years to come.
