GROWTH MINDSET | "DON'T LISTEN TO THE NO SAYERS" ??
The true Mindset of a Winner: "I hate plan B. Believe in yourself!" | ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER
YouTube holds endless content from "the good, over the bad to the ugly". So let's focus on the good content, we all can learn from ??!
A lot of people know the famous "Stay hungry, stay foolish" speech of Steve Jobs, he held in 2005 in front of the Stanford graduates. There are more of those incredible speeches available online, everyone can learn from.
With his latest book "BE USEFUL - SEVEN TOOLS FOR LIFE" from Arnold Schwarzenegger, I'd like to point you to one of the best motivational speeches from my point of view, Arnold Schwarzenegger's "Believe in Yourself" stands out as a powerhouse of inspiration and resilience.
Let's focus on the ?? key learnings for everyone, from this eye-opening speech, where the "Terminator" imparts invaluable insights on the importance of self-belief and the way he has grown his career.
1?? IGNORE THE NAYSAYERS | The speech resonates with a resounding message: "Ignore the naysayers". Schwarzenegger passionately urges listeners not to be swayed by those, who doubt or criticize! He draws from his own life, emphasizing, that those who claim something is impossible are often the ones, who are afraid to step out of their comfort zones. By tuning out the negativity and forging ahead, individuals can silence the critics through their actions and achievements.
Schwarzenegger's journey, from bodybuilding to acting to politics, reflects his ability to rise above the noise and prove his mettle. The key takeaway is to stay true to your convictions, persist in the face of skepticism, and let your success be the most potent response to those who doubted you.
Just remember, you can't climb the ladder of success with your hands in your pockets.
2?? NEVER BE AFRAID TO FAIL | A recurring theme in Schwarzenegger's message on stage is the inevitability of failure on the road to success. He encourages individuals not to fear failure, but to view failing as a natural part of the journey. Schwarzenegger himself experienced setbacks, both personally and professionally, yet he emphasizes that failures are not the end, but a stepping stone to growth and resilience.
By embracing failure as an opportunity to learn and evolve, individuals can cultivate the mental fortitude needed to weather challenges. Mr Schwarzenegger's narrative reinforces the idea, that belief in oneself isn't about avoiding failure, but facing it head-on and emerging stronger on the other side.
3?? EMBRACE YOUR VISION WITH UNWAVERING CONFIDENCE | Schwarzenegger's journey from a small village in Styria/Austria, to becoming a global icon is a testament to the power of unwavering confidence in one's vision. In the speech, he emphasizes the significance of holding onto your dreams with an iron grip, irrespective of external skepticism. Schwarzenegger encourages us to cultivate a vision for our lives and approach it with unyielding confidence. This isn't mere wishful thinking, but a call to believe in the clarity of our aspirations, to forge ahead with determination even when faced with doubts.
Arnie shares anecdotes from his bodybuilding days, when others scoffed at his ambitions, highlighting the importance of trusting your own judgment. The lesson here is very clear: "believe in the validity of your dreams, and others will follow suit".

The resistance that you fight physically in the gym and the resistance that you fight in life can only build a strong character.
4?? BE WILLING TO WORK HARDER THAN ANYONE ELSE | The Austrian Oak's ethos of hard work permeates the speech, as he implores individuals to outwork the competition. Schwarzenegger attributes much of his success to a relentless work ethic, emphasizing that talent alone is insufficient. He stresses the importance of putting in the hours, setting ambitious goals, and being willing to sacrifice for success.
His message is pretty clear: believe in yourself enough to invest the time and effort required for your dreams. Schwarzenegger's rise from bodybuilding champion to Hollywood superstar exemplifies the extraordinary results that can be achieved when belief in oneself is coupled with an unparalleled work ethic.
5?? TURN REJECTION INTO FUEL FOR SUCCESS | Schwarzenegger's path to success was paved with rejection, especially in the early days of his acting career, when his accent and physique were deemed impediments. However, instead of succumbing to discouragement, he turned rejection into motivation. In his speech, Schwarzenegger encourages us to view setbacks not as roadblocks but as opportunities to refine our skills and prove our detractors wrong.
By sharing his own experiences of overcoming rejection, Schwarzenegger underscores the importance of using criticism as fuel for success. This transformative mindset shift allows individuals to grow stronger, more resilient, and ultimately, unstoppable in the pursuit of their goals.
Let's summarize:
Arnold Schwarzenegger's "Believe in Yourself" speech is a masterclass in motivation and resilience. Through his powerful words, he inspires individuals to embrace their visions, overcome rejection, ignore the naysayers, work tirelessly, and view failure as a stepping stone to success. Schwarzenegger's unwavering self-belief, coupled with his stand-out work ethic, serves as a blueprint for those seeking to carve their paths to greatness.

1 年While I agree with everything the actual problem is not the approach, goals and stamina in persuing goal but the fundamental question is if the thing "YOU BELIEVE IN" is something others will also believ in. I have seen many hard working, dwvoted passionate people doing everything to be successful and still failing. Reality success is less about the methode and the aproach but about being able to convice others that your dream is actually their dream and support you. I believe plan B is always repackaging, refraising, and repromoting your old mrssage with the feedback you got from being rejected. In reality there is no plan A there is a constant changing plan A incorporating feedback thus your plan A is listening, reflecting and modifying plan A until you either succeed or run out of time, confidence, energy or resources and reality forces you to give up.

1 年Bernd Zimmermann I have a different approach as a doctrine of life.? Life does not only have straight paths to the goal in store for us, but it is often the twisted and unforeseen turns through which we learn and grow.? Sometimes it is also Plan B (or Plan C or something completely different) that brings us closer to our life goal in the big picture.? In my opinion, it is important to set goals and work towards them with passion.? But also to remain flexible in our thinking and to go through the world with open eyes.???
