In other news, the Franchising Giant “Tommy's Express Car Wash” has been named the No. 1 Smartest-Growing Franchise by Franchise Times in its Fast & Serious list. The car wash chain moved up to the top spot after debuting at No. 2 in the rankings. The company's system sales grew 881% from 2019 to 2022 and it plans to open 60-120 car washes per year. So, it looks like carwashing might be the industry you want to consider getting into if you're looking for fast growth and success!

And last but not least, how is your strategic planning for 2023 going so far? We read an article called “Is Your Strategy Just Wishful Thinking” which suggested that Franchisees need to be included in a Franchisor's strategic planning process to ensure the long-term success and growth of the franchise network. Why? Well, in doing this you are helping your Franchisees understand the direction the network is headed in and their role in it. Plus, it also helps to create buy-in and commitment to the plan, which you seriously need, especially in tough economic times.

Supporting the Trussle Trust

If there’s one thing that we really believe in, it's giving back to help others. So we decided to do something a little different for Christmas. Instead of sending out traditional holiday gifts, we decided to donate, on behalf of our clients, to the The Trussel Trust , an organisation that provides essential support to those in need through food banks and other resources. This decision was made because of the difficult financial situation that many people currently find themselves in, and one to which we cannot turn a blind eye.?
During the period of April 2021 to March 2022, the Trussell Trust distributed over 2.1 million emergency food parcels, an increase of 14% from the previous year. 832,000 of these parcels were given to children.?
These numbers just show the significant need for food banks and other support services. What’s more, the need for food banks in The Trussell Trust's network has increased by 81% in the past five years. The point: We need to give back!?
It is our responsibility to ‘pay it forward’ to the community and support those in need. By donating to The Trussell Trust, we know that we are playing our part to help others and bring some joy to those struggling.?
#LoveFranchising 2023
Last year we launched #LoveFranchising , a campaign designed to celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit that is cultivated through franchising. Our hashtag trended over Instagram and it’s time to level up the game!
Although most people do not realise it, many of the small businesses that are ingrained in our communities, are franchises. So this February, we are excited to kickstart #LoveFranchising 2023 with our focus being, "Love The Challenge: Growing Your Business in Tough Economic Times."?

Partnering with FFiA to make dreams come true!
You may remember our launch of The Foundation for Franchising in Africa (FFiA) last year. We founded FFiA as the first non-profit organisation focused on empowering economic growth and prosperity for women and youth in Africa through Franchising.?
We are proud to announce that we have joined forces with FFiA to bring entrepreneur Rita Zwane's vision of franchising her African restaurant, “Imbizo Shisanyama”, to life. This is an exciting opportunity that we are honoured to be a part of.
Imbizo Shisanyama has taken Africa by storm! Founded by entrepreneur and author Rita Zwane, (fondly known as “MaZwane”) who has a heart that is firmly rooted in the development and upliftment of her surrounding community. She has single-handedly pioneered the commercialisation of the Shisanyama sector in the food, beverage, and hospitality sector contributing to dynamic economic growth and job creation in South Africa. MaZwane embodies the pioneering spirit of Africa.?
