The Growing Season at CivicMapper
Hi Everyone! It’s been a minute! If we are new to you, we are CivicMapper, a geospatial services provider that creates modern, map-based solutions for climate, infrastructure, and social projects. Over the past year we’ve experienced some major growth that at times has felt like running a marathon. We’ve added some new staff who’ve enabled us to expand our services, and we gained new clients that have inspired us to create products and solutions that we are excited to tell you more about. Now that we are taking time to look back and take a breath, we are ready to share some thoughts!
Witnessing the evolution and expansion of the geospatial marketplace over the past few years has been a dream come true. When our founders began their careers in the mid-1990’s, geospatial was a niche industry, and geospatial professionals were few and far between. Today, it is a vast and far-reaching technology used in an ever-growing breadth of projects across academia, government, non-profits, and business. Over the next few months we will be sharing stories about our recent projects and geospatial topics we think you might be interested in. We will tell you about the fruits of our labor - our work in networked linear infrastructure, stormwater, application development, and data modernization -?and how our approaches and methods can be leveraged for other projects. We will share our lessons learned, and tell you what inspired our solutions along the way.?

Building a company, and a small geospatial one at that, provides the opportunity to create a new way of doing business. It is a perpetual lesson in resourcefulness, reinvention, and leadership. It calls you to examine your values and capabilities in greater depth, to meet the customer where they’re at, and do everything you can to develop the best return on their investment. More than anything, it teaches you that nothing extraordinary is ever achieved alone, and that a great collaborative team is worth its weight in gold. We are excited to reconnect with you here, and please stay tuned for more to come! ?
