I just came home from spending two weeks in India.
It's been years since I went home to see my family, and the visit was so worth the trip halfway around the world.
For my first day back at work, I got in my car to make the usual commute from the suburbs way OTP (that's "outside the perimeter" for you non-Atlanta folks) to ITP ("inside the perimeter") to Terminus headquarters in Atlanta. Our office is in Buckhead which is quickly becoming an epicenter of marketing technology. Salesforce, Pardot, Marketo, SalesLoft, and many other MarTech companies call this part of Atlanta home.
Before this week, our home was in the Atlanta Tech Village where startups such as Yik Yak, Insightpool, IO Education, and countless others got their start. The ATV is located in the heart of Buckhead, at the corner of Peachtree Street and Piedmont Road, and it's an amazing place for any startup to learn and grow.
Terminus got started in 2014 by my co-founders, Eric Spett and Eric Vass. They hired our first full-time employee, Amanda Faillo, and began a tradition of spending a day at the lake each summer.
I joined the Terminus team as a co-founder in early 2015, right around the time Vass had finished architecting our account-based marketing (ABM) platform. We made a few initial key hires for Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Customer Success growing our team to 10 "Terminators". Here's us at the lake in the summer of 2015.
Fast forward to Summer of 2016. We now have more than 60 Terminators!
It's unbelievable to see how fast Terminus has grown. At the end of 2015, I wrote about our startup's journey from $0 to $1 million in ARR in just nine months. We gave everyone the "keys to Ferrari", and within 90 days of hitting $1M in ARR, we were already growing 2x (this was right before we announced we raised our Series A).
With money in the bank, we felt confident we could graduate from the ATL Tech Village and into a new home for Terminus. We were literally sitting on top of each other because our team had grown so fast.
The "Terminators" needed room for our company to grow and expand because given our current growth we'll most likely be at 100 full-time employees by the end of this year. Lucky for us, there was almost an entire floor of office space waiting for us just down the street in Buckhead.
Terminus moved to the Terminus 100 building.
We had our August blastoff meeting today and it was freakin' amazing to see everyone in our new home. You can read more details of our move here.
The new space will allow us to focus on continuing to build our culture and give us plenty of room for growth in the coming years. We are hiring like crazy so check out our current job openings.
2016 has truly been an insane year. Want to know what comes next? Well, #FlipMyFunnel has its 1st birthday next week in Boston!
There are a few tickets remaining if you want to join us for the #FlipMyFunnel B2B Marketing & Sales Conference.
It's crazy to think this year is more than halfway over, and there's so much more work to do. As always, we appreciate all of your support and love as we continue to challenge the status quo of B2B marketing.
