Growing Number of Anti-Dumping and Countervailing Duty Cases Initiated
Since the beginning of 2024, over 20 new Anti-Dumping or Countervailing duty investigations have been started by the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) and the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC). These cases cover a wide range of products and various countries of origin, including:
There are already hundreds of open, active cases, and new cases are being added more frequently than in the past. Importers should exercise due diligence in their imports, helping to ensure that they are in compliance with these case orders and that they understand the duty implications. In some cases, these additional duties can exceed 300% of the value of the imported goods, and as always, ignorance of the law is no excuse.
