Growing mushrooms taught me these life lessons

The experience of gardening is unparalleled in its uniqueness.

I have previously achieved success in cultivating oyster mushrooms. As part of my New Year's resolution, I made the decision to cultivate a Lions Mane mushroom using a growing kit upon returning from a vacation in Sydney.

I adhered to the instructions provided on the packaging and commenced the act of spraying water multiple times per day. The block had a complete absence of any indication of life. Abruptly, a little mushroom head sprang from the block.

Within a span of 10 days, they had a significant increase in size. See the pictures above.

What life lessons may be learned by raising them?

In gardening, once the seed germinates in a typical plant, you have the opportunity to see its growth and development. By providing water and nurturing it, it undergoes growth. The evidence is readily available.

However, mushrooms have the opposite effect. You have to believe it before you see it. There is a lack of observable activity over extended periods of time.

One must place trust in the process and maintain a steady application of water.

Focus solely on your current tasks without attachment to the outcome. The rewards appear suddenly and unexpectedly.
