Growing, Moving, Rising

There comes a time when you’re part of a team so good you think, "this is it”. This is the best crew I’ve ever worked with. You know each other’s quirks, you laugh at the same stuff, you argue and then patch things up without missing a beat. And the work, well, it just gets done.

But sure enough as the walls of a place we work in stay the same, the people don’t. We all grow, we learn, we get tested, and sooner or later we’re ready for the next challenge. And that team that you thought would last forever, it starts to break up. Not because the bond breaks, but because life takes us in different directions. That connection? It lingers.

I can say it has been my privilege to continually see people I’ve worked alongside rise up, move on to take up roles they were meant for. We may not be in touch as before, but every time I come across one of them, rising like a kite in the sky, it’s reminder of where they’re meant to be, who they really are and remembering the battles or jokes we shared. I can say, I know them regardless of how high they are.

So here’s to all of you moving on, moving up. I salute you. I always remember those days when we could say, without a shadow of doubt, that we were the best team. And although we may be scattered now, doing our own thing, that truth remains.
