We started from 0 in a highly competitive market. The client and I stayed aligned and worked with resilience as a team. No useless meetings, no wasting each other's time. The client focused on the product. I focused on the marketing. I helped with the customer acquisition. But the client made them happy with an awesome product and perfect customer service. We were profitable since the first months, user acquisition costs have dropped considerably, customer retention is fire ??
I did help with the retention but whoever views customer retention as a result of marketing stunts is wrong. The product is always the most important thing.
Many business owners see e-commerce as a way to make easy money. This is actually so funny because e-commerce is brutal! Digital marketing does not have manipulation powers. It just empowers what already exists.
Yes, I've seen bad products sell. Do you know what I have also seen? The marketing dollars burned to achieve this. 100% vanity, 0% profit.
Sustainable growth is all about honesty. Between the marketer and the owner, between the owner and the customers.
