Picture this: you're standing at a crossroads, unsure of which path to take.
On one side lies the familiar comfort of the status quo – a life of routine and predictability. It's safe, it's cozy, but deep down, you know it's not fulfilling.
On the other side, you have the unknown – a journey of self-discovery, growth, and possibility. It's scary, it's uncertain, but it holds the promise of a life lived on your own terms.
The big problem with change: it's not always easy!!!
It requires courage, vulnerability, and a willingness to step outside our familiar zones. Yet, as uncomfortable as it may be, it's often the catalyst for transforming an unfulfilled life into one lived with purpose.
Enter the GROW coaching model – a roadmap for navigating into the mist of change with clarity and intention.
GROW stands for:
At its core, this is a coaching tool used worldwide to set and achieve goals and includes the principles of self-mastery – the art of understanding ourselves deeply, defining our goals, and aligning our actions with our values and deepest desires.
The first GROW step in this journey is to define your goals
Envision the life you want to create and the person you want to become. What truly matters to you? Take the time to reflect on this question. You have the chance now to draw another path to follow, and if the one you chose years ago is not suited for you, take this opportunity to use wisely the next years of your life.
Life is fluid, not fixed. Set ambitious, achievable goals that help you experience as much beauty as you can.
Next comes the reality check
An honest assessment of where you currently stand: What are your strengths? What are your weaknesses? What obstacles stand in your way? Embrace the truth of your reality, not what you wish it would be. You have to know where you are before going anywhere. Analyze your resources – what can you bring further with you, what do you have to let go of?
Sometimes it's hard to be honest and objective in this phase. Catch any desire to cosmetisize the actual facts and go back to being honest. You don't have to impress anyone.

Now comes the fun part – exploring your options.
This is where creativity and innovation come into play. Let your mind wander, there are no bad ideas. Moreover, the crazier, the better – think of all the beautiful things in your head that may not fit into your current reality. Let them out!
What strategies can you apply to overcome obstacles and achieve these new goals? What resources can you use from the reality check phase? Be open-minded and adventurous in your exploration – no judgment, no restraining.
Finally, it's time to take action (way forward)
This is where consistency and perseverance come into play. Change doesn't happen overnight, but with dedication and effort, anything is possible.
If you are a thinker more than a doer, maybe this phase will seem hard because it requires action which means leaving the thoughts alone and just follow the plan, and the instructions, and believe in the end result (it can be hard to believe in something you don't see).
If you are a doer, maybe you are happy to finally arrive to action – your risk is to have missed some awareness in the first three steps, so I invite you to back a little and make sure you have all you need before diving into action.
And remember, you don't have to do it alone.
This is where a coach can be a game-changer. A coach serves as a guide, a mirror, an honest companion, and a source of support on your journey to self-mastery.
With their expertise and tools (many more, not just the GROW model), you can navigate the ups and downs of change with clarity and confidence, accelerating your progress and reaching your goals faster than you ever thought possible.
So, if you find yourself at a crossroads, grappling with the desire for change, remember this: life is too short to settle for mediocrity. Embrace the discomfort, lean into the unknown, and trust in the power of self-mastery to lead you to a life of purpose, passion, and fulfillment. The sooner you start, the better.
