Grow Your Small Business on LinkedIn

Greetings Business Owners and Entrepreneurs. I welcome you to our weekly newsletter on LinkedIn on "Small Business Growth Marketing Tips, Do's and Don'ts". I thank you for subscribing!

My intent is to share no-nonsense insights that will help your small business grow with uncommon marketing strategies that deliver results.

Here is my first newsletter: "How to Grow Your Small Business on LinkedIn"

If you are a small business on LinkedIn, you are not alone. As a matter of fact, 59 million companies have a page on LinkedIn (April 2022 - LinkedIn.) So you are one of tens of millions of businesses vying for attention. That may sound daunting. The good news is that over 1.6 billion professionals visit LinkedIn each month, and they interact over 2 billion times with the LinkedIn business pages.

So how can your small business rise to the top of the ladder and gain the attention of your prospective customers on LinkedIn?

Here are three strategic tips to help you leverage LinkedIn for your small business growth:

  1. Optimize Your Profile and Company Page: Make sure both your professional LinkedIn profile and your company page are complete and professional. Many small businesses may not even have created their page yet. This is your opportunity to create your first company page! Just go to For Business section on LinkedIn and find the link to "Create a Company Page" at the bottom. Once you have a company page, have a clear profile picture (usually your company logo), a banner image that compels folks to take action, and a concise and compelling summary that highlights what your business offers. Use keywords relevant to your industry to improve visibility in search results. Frequently update your company page with information about your products, services, and any company news.
  2. Publish and Share Valuable Content: Content is king on LinkedIn. Share pertinent articles, blog posts, videos, and updates that provide value to your audience. This could include industry insights, case studies, company achievements, or tips relevant to your field. Regular posting helps keep your network engaged and establishes your brand as a thought leader in your industry. Don't forget to invite your connections to follow your company page. Only invite those connections who will benefit from your content and potentially become your client or partner. Engaging other professionals' and businesses' posts with comments, and messages also helps to build a community around your brand. Don't forget to share some fun anecdotes, employee spotlights, community happenings and useful tips to educate your customers.
  3. Leverage LinkedIn's Networking Capabilities: Actively connect with other professionals, potential clients, and industry influencers. LinkedIn has over 850 million active professionals. Imagine the possibilities. Don't get caught up in making hundreds to thousands of connections. It's really the quality of your connection that matters. One high value connection is worth more than thousand cold connections. Personalized connection requests and follow-ups will help you expand your network meaningfully. Don't connect with someone with an immediate intent to sell. Rather ask them what they do, get to know them better and learn first. Learn how to convert a cold connection to a positive relationship by engaging authentically. Participate in relevant LinkedIn groups where you can contribute to discussions and connect with like-minded professionals. Networking on LinkedIn is not just about growing your connections but also about building relationships that can lead to business opportunities.

Utilizing these growth strategies can help maximize your small business's presence on LinkedIn, attract new clients, and build valuable professional relationships.
