Can you tell me a bit about yourself??

I moved to Canada when I was 19 years old looking for better opportunities for my future. I found that I enjoyed working with children, so I decided to go to school for Early Childhood Education and spent over 3 years working with children. I was looking for another challenging opportunity which is why I started working in sales. Soon after that, I wanted to combine my love for Early Childhood Education and sales which is why HiMama was a perfect fit!?

What does ‘a day in the life’ look like for you?????

I usually start my day by looking at my calendar, emails, and Slack just to make sure I know what is happening throughout the day. After that, I attend our daily team meeting and then begin conducting research on the leads and start talking over the phone with the goal of sending sales-ready leads to the inbound account executive or booking future demos. I also make sure the centre has a great initial conversation with me since I am the first point of contact. In my role, I also take some time to make sure that my pipeline is neat and organized.?

How would you describe HiMama’s Culture??

My initial impression when I first started working at HiMama was that everyone is very friendly and helpful. I was so impressed that all the help and guidance felt genuine and sincere. It is amazing to see that everyone around me is passionate about making a positive impact in the Early Childhood industry. This is evident through the team spirit and collaboration here at HiMama. I love the friendly competitions we have every month during the week such as viewing who has the best response time to keep everyone engaged.?

Why do you like working as an SDR at HiMama??

In comparison to other sales jobs that I have had, HiMama has invested in good quality systems that set SDRs up for success. We are provided with all the necessary tools that allow us to focus on providing value to our customers. It is a luxury to have all these systems in place already and make the transition as a new employee very smooth. Also, one of the first things I noticed since I joined HiMama is that they prioritize the inclusion of personal pronouns everywhere. This is something I have not experienced in any of my previous jobs. We also focus a lot on DIBS through our slack channel and workshops as well. It is a great opportunity to learn! It has been a pleasure to work here with all these systems because I have seen impactful results early on!

How does HiMama support SDRs’ personal and professional development??

We have weekly team meetings where everyone works on their sales skills. In these meetings, we discuss a book that has been assigned to support our personal development. This week we are reading a book called Mindset: New Psychology of Success. These books really help you reflect on yourself and your personal growth. We also have weekly 1-on-1 sessions with our manager where we receive mentorship that is unique to each individual team member. In these sessions, we usually listen to one of the calls from the week that has been recorded to receive feedback on what is working well and what needs some improvement. I also found many of our Slack channels super helpful for questions with quick responses!?

How do SDRs contribute to HiMama’s social impact??

Our mission at HiMama is to empower Early Childhood Educators and help them build good relationships with parents through our app. As SDRs, we are the centre’s first point of contact, ? which means I am responsible to make sure they are qualified and that they are getting the best solution that will fit their needs to make their day-to-day easier. This is very important because I want to make sure that I go into every call with this mindset.??

What makes sales unique at HiMama??

I find sales to be unique because the app not only affects how the centre operates but also has a direct impact on the children that are being cared for. What I love the most, is that our app helps the life of Early Childhood Educators by completely elevating the communication between staff, teachers, and parents. They are able to save more time which means children get more attention and care. This ultimately improves the centre’s program and children’s development. In addition, we get the opportunity to speak with people that are making a direct impact on future generations. It is such a pleasure to work with these decision-makers that are so kind and friendly. All these factors make this job more inspiring and exciting every day!?

So proud of you Emi!
