I have always been asked how I started out as a translator and what made me want to mentor others. I have been a certified translator since 2007.

It was August 2012 when I lost my first job as an in-house translator/administrative assistant because of the financial crisis in Greece. 

In the meantime I had several proposals for in-house positions. To be honest though I didn't really want a job because I was worried about working for someone else. I also had dreamt of being my own boss for a long time and felt now was the right time. I wanted to start my own business.

I started by incorporating my own translation business in the center of Athens. It took me two years to figure things out and start my side business as a business coach for other colleagues.

 I created the first voluntary Mentoring Program for Translators in Greece, gave lectures and presented at conferences and at the University I had graduated many years ago. This was my dream business. By helping others to pursue their dreams I had figured out that "turning your passion into profits" was my tagline and what I really wanted to do.

 In the next few months I was invited as a speaker at several international translation conferences, marketing podcasts, radio shows, online summits and the list goes on. Through webinars, workshops, and my MBA on topics relating to the business side of the translation profession, my career as a mentor started to take off. People asked me if they could hire me to help them as well and many of my new services were created based on what people asked me for. I felt I was on the right track.

 At the same time I never neglected my main business, my translation company. Within 24 months from the official establishment of my business, I explored many ways of marketing my translation business, and I doubled and tripled my income.

The first scale-up moment was when I worked for an EU project and earned the amount of money I would earn in three or even four months working as a translator. Then I realized I can do it! And in less than six months I was able to issue 5-figure monthly invoices.

I've gone from being unhappy and unemployed to creating a dream lifestyle where I can live in the most beautiful country in the world - Greece - and also travel the world.

In my programs I work with clients from all over the world - and the best part, -I can combine all my passions; translation, traveling and coaching in one. I tried many different methods. Every year I’ve doubled my revenue and last year even tripled it.
