GROW Together
It is the first weekend in September, so we are celebrating Labor Day.? Beyond being a day off, it is a symbol of the contributions that workers have made to our nation's economy and prosperity.
The role of the “common worker" has evolved and expanded since Labor Day was first celebrated in the late 19th century. With the rise of technology, automation and globalization, it has become essential to be a lifelong learner.
Being a lifelong learner means having a growth mindset and knowing that my potential and the potential of my colleagues is not fixed or limited.? We seek change and new challenges and open ourselves to new opportunities.? In a world where we are not sure what jobs will be available in five years, lifelong learning is increasingly required. ?In 2023, we recognize that AI is in our future – I must continue to learn and grow with the new tools that are in our workplace.
In addition to learning, being effective in the workplace means operating with an inclusive mindset. We should seek out change, embrace new challenges, and open ourselves to diverse perspectives and ideas. In doing so, we can create a more engaged and motivated workforce, leading to better employee retention, business performance, and customer satisfaction.
This Labor Day, let us celebrate our ability to GROW and identify opportunities to learn, while also recognizing the value of inclusion and diversity in the workforce. By embracing lifelong learning and inclusion, we can create a workplace environment that fosters success and fulfillment for all.
