??Day 2 of Grow Summit 2024: Complete ???
Day 2 of Grow Summit has came and gone, and it’s time to say goodbye to the Retreat. ?
In a jam-packed 2 days we’ve brought together over 150 entrepreneurs, corporate innovators, and investors, focused on building business excellence and founder resilience.?
We’ve empowered UK founders to grow, connect and recharge. And we’ve loved every second of it.
We wrapped up our night at the retreat with a fabulous dinner where founders could connect and get to know each other over delicious food, before heading to a networking session where everyone could link up further.?
Lots of new contacts were made with lots of insight gained before retiring for the night at The Chelsea Harbour Hotel & Spa .?
Day 2 saw a new dawn as our founders and mentors awoke to the election results from across the pond. For those who didn’t complete an all-nighter following along, it was time to take part in the morning activities - with Pilates, meditation and even a Chelsea walking tour on offer. A key theme of the retreat has been how to tackle burnout and stress, so this was the perfect way to get Wednesday going.?
After breakfast, Oli Barrett kicked us off with his morning shakeup, as we got ready to get into a new day of insights, connections and collaboration.
First up was a super engaging fireside chat featuring Rishi Khosla from OakNorth , moderated by Erika Brodnock MBE from Kinhub . Rishi spoke compellingly about the critical role of resilience in building a successful business. He delved into the art of fundraising and attracting investment by effectively telling a brand’s story, as well as the importance of choosing the right team members to drive growth.?
The next session featured a thought-provoking discussion with Nina Briance of CULT MIA and Thomas Broughton of Cubitts , exploring the question, “How do you want to change the world?”.
Tom, the innovative founder of Cubitts, shared his journey of transforming eyewear into a fun and unique product and the importance of focusing on the needs and wants of your customers.?
We then heard the unbelievably inspiring story of The Washing Machine Project from founder Navjot Sawhney . ?
In line with the session’s theme, Navjot spoke passionately about his mission to reduce the time burden of handwashing for the 60% of the global population who spend over 15 hours a week on laundry. Part of our Grow London Global cohort, the company aims to help one million people by 2030, improving lives by providing greater convenience and efficiency worldwide.?
Workshop time! ???
Our workshops have been a particular hit at the retreat, with lots of insights and takeaways to be gained from our experts and mentors.?
Day 2 at the retreat saw two rounds of workshops, with the opportunity for everyone to get stuck into a few.?
For Accelerating Growth: Scaling your Sales Strategy we were joined by expert Dan Cobley and Allie Laurent , and for How to Raise Your Game we were joined by Lasya Rao , Eyal Malinger , Sustainable Ventures ' Stuart Ferguson and British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA) ’s Chris Elphick .?
For our super popular Storytelling for Scaleup Success workshop we were joined by marketing expert Karen Birks , with FieldHouse Associates ’ Cordelia Meacher , 摩根士丹利 ’s David Peto and Fidelity Center for Applied Technology?(FCAT) ’s Will Reed and Una Mc Grath .?
In our Using Tech & AI to Build Operations to Scale workshop we were joined by Alban Remy , Mind Foundry ’s Julie Harris and 摩根大通 ’s Dilpreet Brar , whilst our From Build to Scale session featured Harry Coath , Michael Cavanagh , Excelerator Partners ’ Cate Paulson, Foundation Partners ’ Andy Meikle , Open Org ’s ?? Another popular workshop for the day was Access to International Markets with Sara French with lots of founders in the room to talk scaling globally.?
After a delicious lunch break, we shared some of our insight from the workshops before welcoming the wonderful Sherry Coutu CBE in conversation with Oli Barrett .?
We heard about Sherry’s unbelievable feats, how she stays relentless in what she does and what inspires her.?
After another founder spotlight where we shouted out some of the incredible companies attending Grow Summit, we broke into a second round of workshops. Janet Coyle CBE hosted an ‘unconference session’ discussing dealing with burnout, whilst Guillermo Huertas Guillen and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati ’s Daniel Glazer held an informative session on launching and doing business in the US.?
The day’s activities were drawing to a close as we brought all attendees together to share their goals and learnings from this year’s retreat, before London & Partners ’ CEO Laura Citron OBE returned to the stage to wrap up a VERY productive 2-day retreat.?
We’d like to say a huge thanks to all of the founders, mentors, experts, investors and supporters who’ve joined us so far at Grow Summit. Onto day 3... Future Horizons day! ?
See you tomorrow? ???
