Grow Attractive Communities w/ Safety

For millions of years, humans roamed the earth as hunters and gatherers in small, connected groups. Nomads safely traveling, living and breathing alongside one another… almost identical to today.

Similar to back then, if you weren’t part of a growing group, you were as good as dead.

Today, with only the addition of stylish clothing and unnatural perfumes, our priorities are pretty much the same. We still seek community for safety.

Our chosen communities, whether online or offline, provide us a sense of being part of something greater than ourselves. Whether we are aligning with a product, service or movement, many people look to be included alongside in-demand communities.

If your group is better than other groups - like if you have the best gardens, cave art classes and mud baths - you’re going to be in-demand. The higher demand will attract the highest quality members, making your community even more attractive and powerful.

The more powerful your community, the safer you are.

And when it comes to safety, your company or brand may seek to provide its people with that kind of peace-of-mind.

One trick I’ve used with clients in the past, is to create safe space events

Whatever the event is - a mastermind workshop, training, open mic, team building events, etc. When the event begins, I get the speaker to express to the audience (if it’s relevant) that they’re creating a “safe space for …”

It puts people at ease and opens growth and connection between participants.

Essentially, and I encourage you to define it for yourself, a safe space for gatherings is an open environment for discussion without judgement or fear of repercussions. It’s common sense to the average attendee of your event, but it’s a powerful way to set a mood, when it’s done tastefully.

Depending on your community activity, providing members, customers, or friends with specific events which engage their primal needs, go a long way to growing a powerful and attractive community.
