Grow 1%: Repurpose Wisely

Pick one of these newsletters every day, spend 2 minutes reading and 8 minutes implementing the lesson (1% of your waking day) and your socials will get 1% better.
Don't buy growth hacking classes. Save your money. Do this instead.
Keep using the good stuff.
There is an absolutely ridiculous amount of content created on social platforms every day.
YouTube alone has 500 hours of content uploaded every minute.
At its peak, there were 500 million tweets sent every day.
Over on TikTok there are 34 million posts per day.
So what are the odds that a meaningful amount of your audience actually saw your post?
On Facebook, it's estimated that 2.2% of your audience sees each one of your posts.
That means you can literally post the same thing dozens of times and you're still unlikely to annoy most of your fans.
I'm not condoning this strategy mostly because your superfans are the ones most likely to see more of your posts because you'll rank high in their algorithm.
They're the last people you want to bore with repetitive content.
But there are strategies to make sure you're repurposing your content in a way that can be fun for superfans and interesting for first-timers:
??? Reword the viral stuff. This is a strategy the brilliant Justin Welsh discusses often on LinkedIn. If you have a post that does well, clearly the spirit of that post is resonating. Find different ways to couch the same message, perhaps through an anecdote, quote from a historical figure, or a visual chart.
?? Throwback Thursday. Yes, #tbt is a bit old school, but by admitting you're resharing an old post on Twitter, Facebook, or even the YouTube Community tab, you can show content to an audience that may not have seen it while admitting it's not new for the true fans.
?? Use old posts on new platforms. Just started using Threads? Awesome! Why not post your best-performing tweets that are still relevant? It's a new platform with a new audience, so they'll want to see the best content you have to offer!

?? Cut down the long stuff. Do you podcast? I'm sure there are plenty of 1-minute gems that can be used as YouTube Shorts or TikToks (OpusClip is a great way to have AI do the work for you). Even if your podcast is audio-only, you can use a waveform overlay to post the podcast on YouTube. And don't forget to pull quotes to promote your podcast on Twitter!
My mission for you: look at your most popular posts from the past and see if there's any way to surface that content to a new audience.
And if it's recent, find a way to repackage it in a new way.
Your new fans will thank you! And your old fans may not have seen it either!
That took 2 minutes. You have 8 minutes left. I know I've re-purposed with outro a few times, but here it is anyway: Now go grow 1% right now!

1 年I started repurposing and reposting for just this reason. So few followers see it. I haven't received one comment saying, "I already saw this."

1 年Learning this slowly but surely -- spending hours on a piece that means a lot to me is purely just making myself feel better, not really helpful to anyone else on a larger scale! Short, sweet, repetitive :)
