Grow 1%: Experiment. Learn. Pivot.

Pick one of these newsletters every day, spend 2 minutes reading and 7 minutes and 36 seconds implementing the lesson (1% of your waking day) and your socials will get 1% better.
Don't buy growth hacking classes. Save your money. Do this instead.
Prioritize brand advancement.
For the majority of creators, every single post is focused on getting as much reach as possible.
Also, the majority of creators will also hit a view plateau then inevitably start to shrink to obscurity.
Why?
They find one thing that works then they do it over. And over. And over. And over and over and over.
Even the funniest bit gets boring eventually.
But they're afraid to change too much and lose their audience who loved them for doing that one particular thing.
That's why I encourage the 'experiment, learn, pivot' structure with more pieces of content.
Experiment: find one small change to implement in your next post, one that both respects your brand and speaks to where you want your content to evolve to. Or play with a market trend. Or, every once in a while, take a big swing on a big idea.

Learn: Take a hard look at content and analytics. Did this improve or hurt the product? Can you ask your inner circle for honest feedback? Did views go up or down? Did you see a viewership drop off when this change shows up in your video? Is it worth trying it in further videos? Is this where you and your audience want your content to go?
Pivot: If it's a win, keep making small pivots in that direction. "If this, then what?" If you have a game stream and you tried a new dance when you get 10 subs in a stream, can you do an even bigger dance at 20? Can you try a smaller dopamine hit for your audience at 5? If something is working, explore what that can mean for further pivots. If the experiment didn't work, pretend it never happened. Drop it immediately.
This method, when implemented in every video, will force you to think about brand evolution not as an intimidating huge re-branding but a journey showing respect to your audience and the market.
For your content today, think about the one small experiment you want to try (new catch phrase? new editing technique? using a new platform feature?), define what you want to learn from it (will this increase retention? increase engagement?), and, once you get info back, figure out how you can either drop or keep pivoting in that direction!
That took 2 minutes. You have 7 minutes and 36 seconds left. Do this and grow 1% right now!

1 年I have experimented with the pivot to one, not get stagnant in the same topic and two, too grow a new audience and to keep things fresh. I have gained and lost subs but it’s more of a shift of them. In the YouTube world most of your views, about 90% do not come from subs. Only when you launch a video the subs will see it first normally. Which this can be both good and bad for shift content.
