Grow 1%: Evolution or Revolution?

Pick one of these newsletters every day, spend 2 minutes reading and 8 minutes implementing the lesson (1% of your waking day) and your socials will get 1% better.

Don't buy growth hacking classes. Save your money. Do this instead.

Sometimes you have to throw away the garbage.

You used to get tons of views.

You've been keeping up with current trends.

You've experimented, learned, and pivoted.

And yet, you can't seem to reach your goals.

It may be time to ask yourself, "Do I need evolution or revolution?"

Evolution means you continue to iterate and improve what you're currently doing.

But there are many reasons why evolution may have its limits.

?? Maybe your format has become saturated on the platform.

?? Maybe your audience has gotten bored of your shtick.

?? Maybe you've hit your creative limit with your process or your product.

That may mean it's time for a revolution.

And like all revolutions, that means you need to tear down your creative barriers, re-think what your perfect growth trajectory may look like, and move out of your comfort zone.

The rules of experiment, learn, pivot still apply. Your brand is still your brand. Best practices still apply.

But you're starting from a whole new perspective.

Now how do you do this without freaking out your fanbase?

Be honest with them.

Tell them you've noticed views going down. Tell them you're going to try new things. Tell them you want their honest feedback.

You may be pleasantly surprised how this strategy can re-energize your audience who now feel like they're part of the process.

My mission for you: look at your active social media accounts. Are you on the right path to your goals? If not, think about whether you need evolution or revolution.

Then start working on whichever system is required to reach your goals.

That took 2 minutes. You have 8 minutes left. Time for a little growth evolution: go grow 1% right now!

Creators aren't just vying for brands. Brands are vying for creators.

Trust me. I've had plenty of creators turn down brand deals or significantly raise the price due to a brand's reputation.

In a new Tipalti report, 1 in 5 creators said late payments led to difficulty sustaining their creative careers.

Creators aren't just your business partners. They're your customers too. Treat them like it.

Went to see Hamilton (the musical) the other day. You've just summarized its plot: it wasn't working out, so they said it out loud, got energized, pivoted to something else, and it worked great! Paid the price, but it was worth it...
