The Riyadh to Ras al-Khair project will extend 391 kilometres
Group Five Pipe Saudi Company has won a contract worth more than SR3bn ($800m) to supply pipes for phase two of?the Riyadh to Ras al-Khair water transmission system (WTS)?project.
Saudi Arabia's Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) awarded the contract to Group Five, the firm said in a bourse filing on?2 November.
Group Five will manufacture and supply spiral-welded steel pipes for the project.
MEED reported in September that SWCC has started?the?technical clarification process with the companies that submitted proposals for the Riyadh to Ras al-Khair WTS contract.

The second phase of the Riyadh to Ras al-Khair WTS project is expected to?extend 391 kilometres,?transmitting 1.2 million cubic metres a day of water.?
The scheme is one of two WTS projects that?state-owned Water Transmission & Technologies Company (WTTCO) has said the kingdom plans to procure this year.
MEED previously?reported?that WTTCO?is planning a?SR25bn ($6.7bn) water transmission programme?as part of plans to improve potable water delivery to meet future demand.
