Group Coaching: The Easiest Way to Scale ??

Group Coaching: The Easiest Way to Scale ??

These are two radically different ways of working with clients.

Both are legitimate, effective, and not mutually exclusive.

I have worked and continue to work 1-on-1, with small groups, and with larger groups.

HOWEVER—

I'm going to make the case for group coaching since it’s harder to pull off and wrapped in misconceptions.

It's also where you will find maybe the biggest business unlocks.

If you want to scale your coaching program...

That’s a very low-hanging fruit ??????

There are three major hurdles:

?? First, getting a group together is harder than finding one person to join.

??Clients tend to believe 1-on-1 is more effective for them, and coaches often hold that belief as well.

?? Finally, it requires more skill and responsibility to keep a group engaged.

Because of these hurdles and (mis)perceptions, a lot of coaches shy away from group coaching.

Consider that with groups, you can earn more, work less, and have more fun.

AND (I'm not the only one to think that)...

You can provide a service that is actually more effective than 1-on-1, not less.

Here’s why that’s the case:

?? Time-efficiency – If you have five clients, you can turn five hours of 1-on-1 coaching into just one hour a week.

?? Cost-effective – You can earn a lot more while making your services more affordable.

So far, so good? Yeah, these two are the obvious benefits of group coaching. Now, let’s get to the others:

? Social proof – The group adds authority to your expertise. This happens in group therapy, for example, where participants are often more open to suggestions than in 1-on-1 settings.

? Fun – It’s easier to keep things light and engaging in a group.

? More ideas – A group generates ideas, questions, and angles that 1-on-1 coaching never can. It creates a richer learning environment.

? Networking opportunities – As members get to know each other’s projects, side collaborations often emerge.

? Accountability – That’s massive. Seeing others put in the work reflects on your own level of commitment.

Would add any other point?

The reality is that it's really difficult to grow your business with 1-on-1 only type of services.

You better be very unique, very expensive, with incredible marketing.

Even if it was easy, it's not necessary the most fun or most effective.

Switching to groups might be a lot simpler than you might think.

Let me know your thoughts.
