Much of the challenge and frustration audit leaders face in their organization is when we pretend to be something we are not, and try to force our own agenda instead of doing what our board and management really want.

Professional organizations and firms shouldn't dictate how internal audit is performed in organizations. Believe what they are saying, blindly following standards and guidance not only shows a lack of critical thinking skills, it also makes the job of internal audit more difficult than it needs to be.

I share how when you embrace this new way of thinking, you will really start being more valued and respected by your organization.
