GroundHog Unveils Smart Routing for Autonomous Haulage with Powerful FMS Integration in Open-Pit Mines
California, 19th Sept 2024 — GroundHog is excited to announce the release of the latest version of its Fleet Management System (FMS), now tailored for Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS). This advanced system, developed in collaboration with leading OEM, Scania Group, enhances haul truck automation by streamlining dispatch, trip and route planning, and the entire load-haul-dump cycle. It also enables centralized, cloud-based monitoring and control for more efficient operations.
A key feature of GroundHog’s FMS for AHS is its open API architecture, which ensures seamless communication with OEM’s AHS servers that manage the trucks. By using the ISO 23725 Open Autonomy standard, the integration process is straightforward, ensuring smooth operations with any autonomous truck. This was recently proven in a successful test with an Autonomous Mining Truck at the S?dert?lje test site. The integration of GroundHog FMS was completed quickly and efficiently, first in a virtual environment and then in real-world conditions.
Daniel Persson Proos, a developer from Scania working on external FMS interfaces, commented after the test: “I’m surprised it went off without a hitch on the first run, given how early we are in the process.”
GroundHog’s seamless integration highlights the potential for rapid and effective deployment in diverse mining environments. This success represents a major leap forward in mining automation.
