Chicago's South Side has the best beaches, parks, view of the skyline, museums, and BBQ. Now it will have another reason to visit; President Obama's Presidential Center. After 5 years of planning and organizing, tomorrow marks the official day to announce the construction of this site. I am eager to hear the construction costs and benefits tomorrow at the event. Both former president Barack Obama and Michelle Obama will be in Jackson Park. The couple will be joined at the ceremony by Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, as well as Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot.

The center will not only house a museum, forum, public library and plaza, but also a playground, self sustaining garden, and both pedestrian and bike paths.?

Larger than downtown's Millennium & Grant Park combined, Jackson Park boasts 550 acres of green space. Features include, 18-hole golf course, two walking trails, two basketball courts, football field, gymnasium, tennis courts, lagoon, Japanese Garden, two harbors, a yacht club, two beaches, bathing pavilions, and a bird sanctuary. There is so much this park has to offer it's residents; It is no wonder this neighborhood is such a sought after area of Chicago. The eye catching architecture of this historic area highlights the prominence of the neighborhood. I am looking forward to tomorrow and am extremely excited for the future of the South Side.

Is it a private groundbreaking? I imagine so.
