Groundbreaking in Azusa Launches SGV Habitat's Future Project
San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity
Our vision: A San Gabriel Valley and a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
On October 4th city officials and supporters gathered at 740 N. Angeleno Ave. for the groundbreaking ceremony that will launch the first new construction build in the city of Azusa. Guests included Mayor Robert Gonzales, Mayor Pro Tem Dennis Beckwith, Azusa councilmembers, and representatives from the offices of Senator Susan Rubio, Congresswoman Grace Napolitano and Assemblymember Blanca Rubio who all offered their enthusiasm and encouragement for the project.
This empty lot that stood vacant for decades will transform the lives of 4 families. Applications for these 4-unit attached homes will begin next month with one of the homes designated to a veteran household. Join the SGV Habitat mailing list to be informed of the open application period.
This ambitious project will require the involvement of approximately 40-100 volunteers a day to successfully be completed within the timeframe. If you have ever considered actively participating with SGV Habitat, now is the time! We welcome your help on the construction site (no experience necessary). If hammering is not your thing, perhaps you would like to feed our hungry crew of volunteers by providing lunch, or snacks.
