Ground Zero

Ground Zero

Hope you remember one of my earlier zines “Neck - Pathway to Self-Discovery”, where I had shared about how opening of the physical pathway had helped me become calmer and focussed, hence, helping me see and experience things with more clarity.

Today I would like to share another such physical pathway to greater wellbeing and calmness.

Just see the image above, it is a collage of a few pictures that have something in common. Some of you might see people, some nature, some might see people meditating or doing yoga or practicing mindfulness. Correct? And all of you are right in your own way. Yet there is one more thing there that is common – and that is everybody in those images is connected to the ground (Earth).

We all are born bare foot but we don’t walk bare foot. For most of us by the time we started to walk cute shoes with chirpy noises became a part of our walks. Mom would say,” Don’t dirty your feet, wear shoes or slippers before you step out.” Once we started school benches and chairs became our thrones. Alas! As time passed, our connection to the earth became negligible. We no longer slept or rolled on the floor, we no longer ran bare foot, we no longer sat on the ground to have food - we were always few inches or few feet above the ground.

So, where did our Ground Zero go? Today I have come to realize how important it is to be connected to the ground, to the earth, to the sand and mud. People go to beaches and resorts to experience the bare footedness; people take mud therapy to feel the suppleness and soft touch of the mud on their bodies.

I learned that it is important to be feel the ground at least for 15-20 minutes every day. It connects you to the Mother, Mother Earth; the Big Mother Earth full of energy and power. I am not going to drill down the scientific benefits of the magnetism that earth’s core contains and how it helps us; I would only say, “Sit on the ground, on the grass and experience the hug, love and calmness of the oldest mother, mother of all, our Earth – Dharti Maa.” I have gained lot from opening this physical pathway – The Ground Zero.

?Experience your week ahead from Ground Zero.

Interestingly even in Pranic Healing there are techniques to energize oneself by connecting to Mother Earth and in turn bless her.

Oh my god, yes many times we do hear the words 'Be grounded' , 'Pair zameen par rakho' so yes one more reason to stay connected to mother earth. Very nicely put. ??
