Nearly 60% of Google searches end without a click in 2024

This summer, a Search Engine Land article revealed that nearly 60% of Google searches end up with the user entering a new query or nothing at all.

When the users did click, nearly 70% clicked on unpaid, organic results (i.e., "the open web"), almost 30% went to a Google property (e.g., YouTube, Maps, Images, News); only 1% went to a paid ad.

Case Study: Special Olympics Wisconsin

In late 2023, Special Olympics WI (SOWI) began looking for a partner to help them update their website. Earthling Interactive (EI) responded to their call, proposing a multi-faceted approach to ensure we met Special Olympics WI's needs. By starting with a Strategy and Evaluation, EI was able to interview stakeholders at SOWI to determine their needs for the site, evaluate how the current site was built and structured, and finally propose a new structure to the site to make it easier to maintain and be more athlete- and volunteer-friendly. ?

The actual project to rebuild the website included evaluating the hosting platform, the CMS tool, the plug-ins needed for site functionality, and the accessibility tools to use. EI also worked with Huston Design to create the new site design. All of these project steps resulted in SOWI's?website having a clean, renovated look and being easy to navigate and accessible for its?athletes.
