Summary:?This course focuses on technical and practical aspects of ground and borehole electromagnetic methods. These methods are a routine part of mineral exploration and are particularly used in nickel exploration.
The course is defined into four main topics. The first part of the day will delve into acquisition and survey design, keeping in mind the geologic questions the survey aims to answer. This will be followed by a session on processing, data quality analysis, and viewing data for initial interpretations. The third session discusses inversion and modelling, while the final session will focus on recent case histories. Speakers for the course will feature contractors, consultants, academia, and major mining companies to provide diverse and interesting perspectives from across the industry. Each session includes three 20-minute talks followed by time for group discussion and reflection.
